Ray Rivas

The President conducts the business. Raymond (Ray) Rivas has been in the technology industry, first as a user, then as a vendor for the last 30 years. Ray has worked in Pre-sales Training and Implementation, Marketing, and Sales for mainframe performance and monitoring software, client/server software design and development (IDE) tools, and software testing tools for all environments.
The last 14 years Ray has focused on Quality Assurance, Performance Testing, and Project and Portfolio Management. During that time his specialization was in the HP/Mercury suite of software along with more than three years of experience with Worksoft Certify.
In his current position at Genilogix, an HP Software Elite Reseller, Ray stays abreast of the many competitive functional testing and performance testing tools in the marketplace. He also cross-pollinates ideas with the DFWMUG (Mercury Users Group), where he also serves on the Board of Directors, and his many HP customers in the DFW Metroplex and the rest of Texas. In his dual position as Program Chairman, Ray uses these ideas, his familiarity with the QA marketplace, and the synergy of the DFWQAA Board members to plan the agenda for monthly meetings of the DFWQAA.

The Vice President assists the president with business and special projects. Chris is a Senior Quality Engineer at Interactive TKO, Inc. (iTKO). With over 14 years of experience in development, quality assurance, software engineering, and consulting, Chris has a wide range of knowledge in the realm of quality assurance. In these various roles, Chris has worked with Telecom, Financial Solutions, Mortgage, Secure Email, and a variety of web services in small to very large and internationally dispersed teams implementing new quality assurance process, test automation frameworks, leading domestic, on-site, and offshore teams, and providing insights to management at various levels. His diverse experience and ability to take on every possible professional challenge, small or big, has allowed him to succeed and grow in his career.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University in Management Information Systems and currently pursuing a MBA with a concentration in Global Management from the University of Phoenix (estimated completion October 2011). His dedication and passion for work is driven and inspired by his loving family.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and friends, soccer, golf, and keeping up with A&M athletics.

The Secretary records the events at all officer meetings and maintains the corporate books. John is a 41 year veteran of technology and quality assurance. He currently serves as a Solution Testing Manager at SOURCECORP in Dallas, Texas. This role is hands-on quality assurance with active agile participation in the SOURCECORP implementation cycle. The Solution Testing Manager is responsible for overseeing 6 associates who are responsible for developing and executing test cases ensuring that software configuration meets business requirements. SOURCECORP is a business process outsourcing (BPO) and consulting firm that offers solutions and industry expertise to clients throughout the United States that transform their business processes and accelerate business performance..
John received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He specialized in Marketing. .
John loves to golf and the loves of his life are his grandchildren.

Treasurer
Carmen Huff

The Treasurer maintains and publishes financial information, and files all tax returns and legally required forms.
Carmen has 15 years of experience in Information Technology utilizing diverse leadership and interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities to provide quality execution. She specializes in leading teams from initiation to implementation of technology solutions. She has vase experience in System Administration, Network Engineering, Database Administration, and Quality Assurance. She currently holds the position of Quality Assurance manager for Heartland Payment Systems specializing in Credit Card Processing.
Carmen received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M majoring in Computer Information Systems. Carmen’s favorite pastime is playing with her grandsons and dinner parties with friends.

Sally started programming in 1967 and with over 40 years in IT has worked a number of processes including TQM and CMMI and establish the first QA processes at The Associates in 1976 by requiring the customer to sign off on the requirements and and the test results before changes were installed into production. Reducing the month abends from an average of 4-5 to 0 in the first month and it remained there until she left production support just over 2 years later.
She has been a quality assurance reviewer at Northrop-Grumman since 1998. Establishing a number of quality processes and working as a Methodologist to help projects to implement with fewer problems. Helped to establish a number of Quality processes on the JSF program being worked jointly by Lockheed-Martin and Northrop-Grumman and BAE.
Sally enjoys gardening and Toastmasters when not working on JSF or process quality.
Teri Cate

Teri Cate has over 10 years in the IT industry. She started in the founding company, Geophysical Service Inc., of Texas Instruments doing seismic data processing. Afterwards she moved to the Defense Business and then the Corporate IT areas of TI doing internal systems and application support for the facilities, environmental, and financial groups. This covered a wide range of areas from mainframe systems and client/server applications to PC Access tools and a website. Next, she focused on software quality assurance and has 9 years experience in this area which covers educational handheld devices and health care information systems.
Being customer focused, highly organized, and very detailed has helped Teri to manage projects, find solutions, and satisfy users. In her spare time, she designed and programmed a web site for the Texins Sailing Club in which she was a member for over 10 years. She has been a member of the Alliance of Technology and Women for 8 years and on the Leadership Team for 6 years.
Teri has a BS in Earth Science from the University of New Orleans.
James A. Berlingeri

James Berlingeri is the Outsource Technical Liaison at SuperMedia LLC with responsibility for governance and controls of Outsource Vendors supporting IT Testing and Lights on Support. He also serves as Technical Account Manager responsible for planning and coordinating environment changes (hardware, OS, DB and middleware) as well as application code control and migration in support of these systems. Prior to joining SuperMedia LLC, James worked in senior positions at Verizon Data Services and GTE Inc. for 21 years..
Most notable was his four years serving as Director of Systems – ERP Testing– SAP Implementation Program at GTE. In that position, James developed and implemented the Q/A and Testing processes followed in successfully implementing SAP Financials and HR Pay for the entire corporation. James holds a BBA in Accounting from Angelo State University and is a Certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Director through the Cooper Institute of Dallas, TX. .
When away from bits and bytes, he enjoys traveling, golf, sun and surf without a preference to which comes first.
Ryan Wiersema
Ryan joined Aviall in 2008 as a Quality Assurance Engineer. Aviall Services Incorporated is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. Aviall’s primary mission is serving as a leader in distribution of parts and services in the general, commercial and military aviation arena.
Beginning in the information services world as a junior developer following graduate school in 1996, Ryan transitioned into the realm of quality control and quality assurance. In this realm, Ryan has produced and led test automation implementations, functioned as lead on numerous projects involving manual and automated testing, and provided assistance to management. Ryan has taught for the Dallas Community College District as an adjunct faculty and currently is a Lead Faculty of Business at Le Tourneau University, teaching in an adjunct capacity. Ryan also is Vice President of the DFWMUG and is active in various professional organizations. Ryan received a B.A from Cornerstone University and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Shelly Jackson proudly supports our Quality Assurance Community through her participation with events such as Quest in support of education and training for quality assurance professionals. Shelly works for DIVERSANT, LLC as Business Development Director. Shelly is responsible for building profitable relationships on a daily basis. DIVERSANT is a privately-held professional services firm providing IT contingent labor and consulting services to mid-market and Fortune 500 companies nationwide. DIVERSANT combines a wealth of practical business expertise with decades of experience in the IT and staffing sectors.
Shelly comes from a long-term career in business development including industries such as television advertising, mortgage sales, and most recently technology consulting. She is instrumental in building relationships and developing innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of her clients. She uses her unbeatable energy and enthusiasm to build and grow her business.
Shelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas and enjoys spending time with her two young children and husband, Eric, and loves jumping out of perfectly good airplanes for fun!
