Here are some of the possible topics for discussion at DFWQAA chapter meetings:
- SQA best practices in an Agile/SCRUM Process Environment, is this achievable?
- SQA in DFW, what are the opportunities? What skills are needed for SQA and Testers in DFW? What is the SQA market?
- SQA and Testing 101. What is the difference? Best practices and the quality lifecycle. For those of us new to the discipline
- What makes a good defect report?
- What is the defect lifecycle?
- Testing for international products, what is L10N, I18N?
- Risk based testing, methods for determining what to run and what not to run?
- Test automation, when? From the start? The pros and cons.
- Types of test automation (record and play, protocol generators, API, GUI).
- Test tool packages: Management, defect tracking, requirements tracking, test cases (manual/automated), automation, and commercial vs. free… You would not believe the choices…
- Phased or layered testing, test from the bottom up.
- SQA Metrics, the good the bad and the ugly! How to use the data you have to help determine quality. Are there “standard” metrics everyone should be using?
- Book reviews (ex: Perfect Software and other Illusions about testing by Gerry Weinberg)
