Meetings

January – November our association meets on the third Tuesday of every month. We feature speakers of interest to quality professionals. In December, we hold a Webinar, but do not meet in a physical location. Meetings and the webinar are free to our members. Potential members are welcome to attend a meeting before joining.  We meet at 6:30 pm and adjourn at 8:00 pm.

DFWQAA and DFWMUG celebrate Valentine’s Day with our first joint meeting on February 21, 2012. Both groups will gather to hear one of our local practitioners talk about how to tell when you have fully tested your application. Systemware is providing a wonderful meeting room that is large enough for all of us to spread out and enjoy the networking, food, and presentation.

See you there.

On February 21st, 2012, the DFWQAA and DFWMUG User Groups will hold a joint meeting at Systemware Professional Services.

The meeting starts at 6:30 pm with networking and food but we ask that everyone arrive around 6:20 pm to accommodate the larger attendance with both User Groups.

If you arrive late and Building Security has locked the doors, call 214-506-0551 and we will send a rescue party to find you.

Topic:  “The Case for Test Case Points”

Speaker:  Mas Kono, Sr. Director of the Development Velocity Office at GameStop

Do you think the number of test cases you run is an effective measure of the quality of your application? Mas is going to make a case from practical experience why just counting the number of test cases doesn’t guarantee quality. He will also provide an alternative view on determining when your application has been sufficiently tested.

 About the Speaker:

Mas is a little shy when talking about himself, but don’t let that fool you. He has served in various roles as a developer and QA analyst in many different industries for the last 15 years. He has gained wide experience by working at Palm, Texas Instruments, T-System, ThinkFinance, and now, GameStop. He is easy to talk to and openly shares his knowledge.
