January – November our association meets on the third Tuesday of every month. We feature speakers of interest to quality professionals. In December, we hold a Webinar, but do not meet in a physical location. Meetings and the webinar are free to our members. Potential members are welcome to attend a meeting before joining. We meet at 6:30 pm and adjourn at 8:00 pm.

FYI: All vehicles entering the campus will pass a security booth at the entrance. Attendees should tell the guard they are going to the SuperMedia Headquarters Office to attend the DFWQAA Meeting. You will be directed to turn left at the guard station and proceed to the parking circle. If no guard is on duty, turn left and proceed to the parking circle. We will meet in the conference room just to the left of the door to the building.
This month’s guest speaker is Tim Lyon, QA Manager for Online Technology at GameStop
Topic: “Agile Testing Tactics for Waterfail, FrAgile, ScrumBut, & KantBan”
Description: Agile development is being used more and more. But the Quality Assurance personnel (and management) are playing catch-up to be able to work in a lean environment while still produce quality testing. Waterfail, FrAgile, ScrumBut, & KantBan are all various amalgamations of different methodologies trying to be shoe horned into existing development environments. But delivery patterns tend to fall short in quality assurance practices. No one practice fits all, but there are various tactics that can be used to help address some of those concerns and better limit the delivery quality exposure – especially in tight turn around projects.
About the Speaker:
Tim Lyon is the QA Manager for Online Technology at GameStop and has over 17 years in Quality Assurance testing and Automation practices, most of them in “agile-like” environments. He holds two advanced degrees with a MBA and a Master’s of Science in Management and Administrative Sciences (MSMAS) as well as being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Tim has led the development of quality assurance, automation, configuration management, and release management practices in several different application frameworks with proprietary and open-source solutions yet still considers himself a student in the ever-evolving field of quality assurance and software development practices.
